Gareth Gates to star in musical coming to Clacton

The critically acclaimed musical “Mad about the Musicals” is coming to the Princes Theatre, Clacton-on-Sea, for one night only- 29th May. The pit-stop is part of the 10th anniversary of the production which started on 21st April. The show features an array of songs from London’s West End and Broadway as well as leading cast including Pop Idol and Dancing on Ice star, Gareth Gates and Michael Courtney.

The show has songs from; Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, We Will Rock You and more blended together for a full evening of entertainment with; costumes, a light show and talented vocals and choreography.

Gareth Gates starring role came from his recent rise back into the public eye- making him one to watch in the musical world after receiving raving reviews for his performance of the UK tour of Footloose.

Leading man, Gareth, said: “It’s a show that will appeal to many people, as even if you don’t know the individual musicals, you will probably know the songs.

“There has been some amazing music to come out of theatre shows in the last few decades, so we will be paying homage to them. Some shows I have appeared in and some will be new songs for me to sing, which is what I’m looking forward to”

Throughout Gareth’s 14 year career he has always been on stage whether it be performing his number 1 hits to playing “Joseph” for Andrew Lloyd Webbers production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

“It’s great to connect with an audience live. And when I’m singing I don’t have a stutter! I can connect with an audience through music, which I love.”
