The comic book film perfect for non-comic book fans

The latest craze sweeping the screens of our cinemas is none other than DC’s latest and highly anticipated, Suicide Squad.

It’s all-star cast includes; Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) as well as some surreal special effects and make up. But, has the film we were all waiting for lived up to it’s expectations? For many the answer is no.

Comic book fans have criticised the film for it’s casting, story line and accuracy to the comics- however does this really made it a “bad” watch? On paper what could there possibly be to complain about with Jared Leto on the big screen, Margot Robbie prancing around in practically nothing, as well as guns, fighting and explosions! Which is exactly why Suicide Squad is the perfect film… for non-comic book fans.

Suicide Squad has something for everyone; if you like romance there is Dr June Moone (Cara Delevingne) and Rick Flag’s (Joel Kinnaman) storyline, if you like comedy Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) are sure to make you chuckle, if you’re into music you’re bound to love the soundtrack and no one can deny it has every element needed for an action film.

Arguably the film isn’t what comic book fans may have been hoping for, but it is what film fans had been hoping for. Everyone loves a villain and Suicide Squad has them all. Just skip the technicalities, grab some popcorn and enjoy the film.
