Mamma Mia is the story of 20 year old Sophie Sheridan (Georgina Castle) who wants to find out who her father is. She invites her three potential fathers, Bill Austin (Dugald Bruce-Lockhart), Harry Bright (Alasdair Harvey) and Sam Carmichael Richard Trinder) to her big Greek wedding. What might seem like a good idea only to causes further complications when her mother, Donna Sheridan (Sara Poyzer) sees all three of her ex boyfriends for the first time in 21 years. With a soundtrack based on Swedish pop band, ABBA’s, well loved songs.

Since its debut on the West End, Mamma Mia has been seen by over 8.6 million people and when Mamma Mia! The Movie was released in 2008 it became the highest grossing live-action musical ever.

So it’s no surprise that the news of a sequel has theatre goers itching to get back to Covent Garden’s hidden Greece.

The stage show is a foot tapping, “head-banging” evening of fun. The choreography is flashy even with the simple use of household props such as hairdryers and shower heads in the title number “Mamma Mia” and raunchy “Does Your Mother Know?”. Although some numbers benefit from a more static and emotional setting like in the mother daughter number, “Slipping Through My Fingers”. A true family feel-good musical.

Book your tickets now ready for the release of the film sequel in July.

My My! How can you resist?
